Tumors Can Re-Seed Themselves: Study

A new study has found that tumors can not only send out tiny cells called seeds to other parts of the body, they can also re-seed themselves. Researchers say this may explain why some tumors grow back even after they've been removed. The animal study may lead to new treatments that help prevent metastasis, and experts say it may also help scientists understand the role the body's immune system plays in a cancer recurrence.  Read full story >
