Vitamin D Shrinks Breast Cancer Cells: Study

A new study suggests that vitamin D may be as good at shrinking and killing breast cancer cells as the drug Tamoxifen. In an animal study, researchers found that a potent form of vitamin D shrank tumors by more than 50 percent. Experts say the results are encouraging because low vitamin D has been linked to cancer, asthma, and many other diseases, but they say that further studies in humans are needed.  Read full story >
