Experimental Med Helps Treat Aggressive Breast Cancer

The experimental breast cancer drug Iniparib appears to shrink tumors, increase the time tumors take to progress, and prolongs survival in women with triple negative breast cancer. Researchers say the drug appears to prevent cancer cells from repairing themselves after they've been damaged by chemotherapy. Experts are hopeful the new drug will give those with the difficult cancer another treatment option, but results of a Phase 3 trial will need to be completed before they're sure.
