Day one at rehab center

Today my father, who has mild dimentia and heart disease, was transferred from the hospital to a rehab/nursing home facility.  It is an eye opener to walk into a nursing home and see others who are living there and realize that could be your Dad/Mom and to realize how blessed I am that I will be taking my Dad back home in 10-14 days. Trying to get my Dad to think of the positive things and to bring him touches of home to brighten up his small room.  The care there so far has been great.  Learn ed today that not all information is shared from the hospital-had to tell the nurses about my dad's condition and that they should monitor him at night so he does not try to get out of bed on his own.  Feels good to keep a journal and learn from others/
