Friday, February 06, 2009 at 06:31 PMTexas, and I've been to every socoal worker, sss office, sss advocate, have written our congressman. I plan on looking at all the caregiver options on this website over the weekend to see what the "proffessiionals" aren't sharing with me.
Have you been through a similar family recovery>? You mentioned eldercare attormey, but my wife is only 44. Would that help? I also hhave located a home health nurse to come in once a week for 4 hrs so I can run my weekly errands.
As far as my emotional state, my dr prescribed xanax which i refuse to take cause i won'y wake up in the night if she needs to be transferred to the toilet. What sort of natural remedied could you suggest for insomnia and severe anxiety which usually starts after every else is in bed and I start thinking in circles abour how to get the family back on track with the plans we devised for the future.
Thanks

What state do you live in.
There are all sorts of resources out there.
If you can, look up Care Managers in your state and find someone who can help you organize the care and get you the services.
Unfortunately they do charge, but it can allow you to go back to making the type of money that you need to provide for the pricing.
Also there are Elderlaw attorneys, who can help see you through this process.
I am so sorry you are going through this.
Also there are Psychologists that specialize in this type of thing and may be able to help you.
