    I completely agree.  In NJ we have a "healthcare for all" coalition focussing on both universal healthcare and paid family leave.  The U.S. is the only industrialized country that doesn't offer paid leave and NJ hopes to be the 3rd state to pass this (CA and WA already have it).  Nationally, the Centers for Medicaid/Medicare continue cutbacks with their proposed rehab. regs. as well as targeted case management.  In our state, Medicaid co-pays are again in our budget, despite national research that shows it decreases healthcare utilization of necessary medical care and prescriptions, leading to increased hospitalizations and higher costs both financially and poorer health outcomes including increased mortality.
