There are a number of social programs available for people who cannot work or otherwise manage, including medical care. These programs may be funded at a federal or state level, though in most cases they are administered on a state or local level. Contacting the government in your city or county to speak with the health department or the department of social services will begin to determine for which programs you qualify. These may include support for both health expenses as well as other living expenses due to your condition, and will depend on qualification into these programs. Once you have explored all of these programs, you may also explore no-fee and sliding scale clinics for care as well as other privately funded social programs in your area. A social worker can be your best friend when navigating all possible options.
