Am I heading for Alzheimer or other brain related disorder?
I am 40 yr. female and sometimes forget things whether I have brushed my teeth, regular phone numbers or particular word.
Hi,
I doubt you are headed for Alzheimer's. You seem to be going through some normal forgetfulness associated with growing a little older -- better known as senior moments.
To ease your mind you might want to read this article on Fear of Alzheimer's by Dr. Vanda: http://www.healthcentral.com/caregiver/vanda-202850-5.html or visit Health Central's Alzheimer's section: http://www.healthcentral.com/caregiver/vanda-202850-5.html.
If you become more concerned with forgetfulness and confusion don't hesitate to contact your doctor. There are many tests know which can detect early onset of Alzheimer's.

I also wanted to add that you are entering the "peri-menopausal" age, and brief memory lapses such as the ones you describe are not uncommon at all. Hormonal changes can cause all kinds of weird stuff. I wouldn't worry, but do mention it to your doctor next time you go.
