Hi all, my name is G.J. I have been married to my wife for 26 years and I'm a father of 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. We are a family intimately familiar with bipolar disorder: our second oldest child, Kyle, and I both have bipolar disorder. As you can imagine, there’s never a dull moment in our home.

Over the years I have had several careers ranging from mortgage banking to retail storeowner, to my current position as a programming team leader. I also currently work part time as a retail supervisor evenings and weekends. My career dream is to go back for a third degree, enter law school, and become a trial attorney. Or maybe professional fisherman, or...

My hobbies include writing, programming, web site design and hosting, listening to music, biking, camping, and watching kid’s sports and activities. Being bipolar, however, I have to be constantly mindful that my hobbies don’t become obsessions.

My wife and I strive to take an active role in the bipolar community. We have been blogging for several years about our son, his struggles, challenges, and accomplishments. My diagnosis is more recent, and since then I have been maintaining a blog about my condition. We are active in several bipolar disorder support groups, both locally and on-line.

I'm looking forward to getting your feedback on my blog and to hearing about your experiences living with bipolar disorder. Don't hesitate to get in touch . . .
