My HDL is in the high 80's, which my doctor calls a "Get Out of Jail Free Card".  I changed to a low-carb diet 7 years ago and my HDL has been rising ever since (I'm 54).

I am a 43 year old female. I too have a high HDL level of 94 and total cholesterol level of 200, a 2:1 ratio). I researched this, being in awe ,that my high HDL level (good)  continues to rise with each year as I continue a low-carb diet. I found many doctors say that eating fat increases the (good) HDL levels which contradicts the Dean Ornish diet.  I am intrigued by this! I did find a recent research in Finland that says high HDL levels could be very DANGEROUS when looked at with other factors. I am sure there is more to the mysteries. Also, I smoke and drink alcohol regularly.....(not that I am proud) but just another factor to add to the mystery. I call it great genes. My doc says I have the heart of an athlete andt  I hardly excercise. I may add that I am a Dietary Manager at a large retirement community and serve and eat a VERY wide range of foods here. Very well rounded diet other than many carbs.
