Simply switching from dairy to soy has made a big impact on lowering my cholesterol. This simple change has made me much healthier.

My high cholesterol is hereditary, and I was reluctant to start medication, so I was forced to go to extremes. Even the leanest of meats and dairy products (skim milk, for example) contain cholesterol. I can't bring myself to go vegan, so I do my best to replace meat and dairy products with soy when possible.  The introduction of soy has been a big help, and I've managed to lower my cholesterol by nearly 30 points.

My favorit soy treat is a Grade Soy Latte from Starbucks. They use vanilla soy at Starbucks, so it gives the coffee just a slightly sweet taste. If you are a new coffee drinker, I highly recommend this drink - the soy does a nice job of reducing the bitter, coffee taste, and the coffee does a nice job of reducing the soy taste. Starbucks owes me for this recommendation!

This video animation shows how cholesterol behaves in the blood stream. Cholesterol is a soft, fat-like, waxy substance found in the bloodstream and in all your body's cells.
