Despite regular exercise and healthy eating habits, I was diagnosed with high cholesterol at age 27. My mom is very thin and active - she has it, too. Yep, it's hereditary! My doctor was reluctant to put me on medication because I was only 27, so I decided I was going to get *really* healthy. I added a few more workouts each week, reduced the amount of red meat I was eating, and replaced dairy with soy products. These changes reduced my cholesterol by 30 points, and I feel much healthier.
