I spent 2 and1/2 years managing the Samaritans phone lines (suicide)back in the late 80's. I remember doing an overnight with a retired nurse who was an RN in the emergency room of a Boston hospital. She told me that ALMOST INVARIABLY those suicide attempts and suicides had very low cholesterol...like 50/60. It is not known whether this is causal or effectual condition of suicide.I have been searching and asking MD's since if there is any research done on this fact.Haven't been able to get an answer. Is there anyone out there with one?
PS. there are approximately 20,000 murders per year in the USA AND 30,000 suicides.
