Hello,
I have had a battle for over 10 years with high cholesterol and extreme high triglycerides. In the last year I have been going to a different doctor and he has lowered all my levels with an aggresive treatment. He declares this will reverse heart disease. I take daily 4 (four) 1000mg. Lovasa (more consentrated than Omega 4's), one each Vytorin 10-40mg and Tri-cor 145mg. Doctor I. Bryson is located at Community Health Care Systems, P.O. Box 371, Wrightsville, Ga. 31096 (478-864-2600).

Fish oil is swiftly becoming the new heart disease wonder supplement along with Vitamin D. If insurance doesn't fully cover your Lovaza there are a number of new high-potency fishoil supplements formulations with nearly the same amount of active ingredients (EPA/DHA).
Several new studies have just come out that suggest the new minimum levels should be in the 3000-5000 mg of total EPA/DHA per day. Note that is 3000-5000mg of active ingredients not the total volume of the pills.
Has your doctor done any advanced lipoprotein testing to check things like lipoprotein(a), small LDL or LDL particle number? These are addtional factors (among others) that may affect your heart disease. Finally, have you had a heart scan?
