    Dear  Ron.

You know stress is one of the biggest causes of heart attacks, sounds like to me that blood levels elevated because of change in medication .If the doctor can prove to your insurance company that your previous meds were more benificial then the insurance co. should pay for them. You must understand that what u eat is very important. Cut back on fats like chocolate pie lol.. you should prob try to increase exercise and drop about 20-30 pounds, i would be willing to bet u could come off of most of those medicines. total cholestrol < 200 excellent trigs < 200 is prefered you hdl which is the good kind is way low ldl is bad kind when they say cant be measured its because the machine that reads these levels cant pick them up basicly trigs over 500 machine will not read out ldl. Dude i wish I were in your shoes my trigs 1062 fasting tc 265 ...A1c is excellent by the way. Iam going to assume u r not diabetic. Hope this helped dont stress over it work on it.

    Ron,

I am confused. Your test results say your total cholesterol is 150 but your LDL was too high to be measured? Your total cholesterol is found by this formula TC= LDL + HDL + VLDL  (VLDL=Trigs/5). Something does not add up here. A rough estimate is that your total cholesterol should be 225 or higher. Total cholesterol of 150 is great.

If you have a family history of high cholesterol, you are doomed by that history and it is going to be a constant battle to keep your cholesterol in check. Do you have a history of heart disease in your family, too?

Why are they doing an A1c test with a fasting glucose of 90? Are you diabetic? You have great blood sugar control if your are.

Your dinner should not have affected the test. But it probably isn't the best diet for you.

Try calling your doctor's nurse and asking her some questions. Tell her you are confused by these test results. Tell her something is fishy about this TC of 150 with the other numbers being so high. Also point out that your numbers were so much better or the other meds and is possible for the doctor to justify those meds to your insurance company.
