Hello there.

my husband has high cholestrol. He just got tested and his report is as follows. Can someone help explain why the level is so high.

Cholesterol total             244

HDL cholesterol               84

Cholesterol/ HDL Ratio     2.9

LDL Chol, Calculated        130

Triglycerides                   152

Last year from 4/2006

Cholesterol                     231

HDL Cholestrol                58

Cholesterol/ HDL Ratio     4

LDL Chol/ Calculated        134.2

Triglycerides                   194

Can someone me understand the report? what should he do to lower the cholesterol. He runs about 3-4 miles 4-5 times a week. Diet mostly consists of low fat foods (fish, 98% turkey meet, lean chicken).

Thank you for your help.

C

This video animation shows how cholesterol behaves in the blood stream. Cholesterol is a soft, fat-like, waxy substance found in the bloodstream and in all your body's cells.
