Dear Danielle329,

Thanks for joining our community and submitting a SharePost.

There are many different factors that can contribute to a persons risk of developing high cholesterol, and genetic factors and family history do play a role.

Read about the other factors that may increase your chances of developing high cholesterol.

Diet can also play a role in developing high cholesterol, so here is more information about low choelsterol diets and heart healthy lifestyles.

Of course, it is very important to discuss your risk factors with your doctor and determine what course of action is needed.

Best wishes,

Katherine
