I am a new member. I thought I could take red yeast rice as an alternative for the statin drugs, but I think it has made me ill; tired, listless, body aches. I decided to stop it, but do not want to take statin drugs. My cholesterol total level is 230, has been that way for several years. I exercise a lot (4-5 days a week), have recently loss 11 lbs (Weight Watchers). I am also diabetic, but with the increase in exercise and food control, my glucose numbers have gone way down and stay in a the 90's, sometimes without medication.
I just read Dr. William Davis' article on how to drop the cholesterol, and will try his advice. I'm very glad to have found the cholesterol network.
