My doctor recently put me back on gemfibrozil. Before he did, I asked him if it was a medicine that affected the muscles as I'd experienced this reaction before from cholesterol medicine. He said it wasn't. I first felt nauseaus and remembered I felt that way last time I took it. (Even...

Welcome to the merry go round.

I've had exactly the same experience.

Taking the prescribed chlorestoral medication lowered my chloriestora but my triglycerides went off the chart. My docter added medication to lower the tris and the next test showed they were both up and my blood pressure was high and he wanted to start me on high blood pressure pills.

Acid reflux, high bllod pressure, muscle deteriation and weakness and depression are the results of playing the game with the pharmaceutical companies.

I've just decided to quit playing with them and feel better, save my liver and enjoy life.

I too have tried several meds for my high cholesterol and they all gave me leg pains. Lipitor, Zocor and another, I can't remember. So I gave up, but Dr. said I needed something, so she prescribed Zetia. I have been on it for about a year and have had no side effects. Cholesterol has come down and stays under  control.

    Worth a try for you.
