Leftovers from last night make a better breakfast. I once ordered a salad with a full breakfast and heard a waitress say, "Salad? What sort of breakfast is that?" Attitudes need to change fast!

Eight months ago my cholesterol was 385 mg/dl.  Today it is 165 mg/dl.  I changed my eating habits from the government recommended guidelines to a plant based whole food diet.  I am 100% vegan.  I did your test with the oatmeal as I eat it six out of seven mornings.  One cup of whole oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar with a large whole apple cut up in it.  My blood sugar stayed steady; it did not change an hour later as you suggested it would.  In regard to the consumption of nuts (whole); I love nuts and I started eating them as part of my regular diet.  However after eating them for one month I had my cholesterol rechecked and it increased by 40 mg/dl.  I discontinued eating them.  As far as food companies having the FDA in their pockets, it is not the oatmeal manufactures.  It is more likely the beef, dairy, and poultry industries.
Just my opinion
