Fourteen Pounds in Fourteen Days

By Dr. William Davis, Health Pro Wednesday, March 31, 2010
No, this isn't some come-on for a new weight loss program. But, it is a tale of weight loss that developed easily, immediately, and effortlessly.   Stephen had been told by his primary care physician that he needed to take a cholesterol-reducing drug for an LDL cholesterol of 212 mg/dl. Stephe...

I read the article about losing 14 lbs in 14 days.  If I read it right, it says to cut out fat, red meat and eggs; followed by all things wheat.

What is sorely missing from the article is the information about what a diet might look like once these have been implemented?  Fruits and vegetables, yes.  I have tried a diet of mostly those and my stomach revolts.  I personally am not overweight but wouldn't mind dropping 4-5 lbs.  My cholesterol is o.k. but has been consistently moving up as I turn 50.  I would love to see a follow up to this article that recommends what a diet might look like that someone could actually live with.  I am guessing lean white meat, fish, oatmeal??  fruits and veggies...tofu?  A diet one can live with needs to have some excitement in it.  What would you recommend?

This guy lost this weight purely by eliminating WHEAT alone!  Fat was fine and of no concern.  Although he wasn't allowed to replace the wheat products with gluten-free ones.  Have another read.

I avoid processed carbs and eat as much as I like, and too much chocolate (just quality plain dark choc though) and never have to worry about my weight..

Good luck!

I must be dense, but I always through wheat (whole wheat) was an important part of a diet and that fat is a problem for your internal system if not your weight.  Of course at 9 calories per gram, fat has to be an issue if overdone aside from the impact on your heart.

I can relate much more to your stated approach as we are inundated with processed carbs that are pure junk.  Chips, pretzels, crackers, breads without whole wheat etc.

I'm not sure I'd relate though to dropping whole wheat, would you agree?

I had a small heart event a couple of years ago.  Eliminating wheat drops my ldl 40 points.  All Wheat. I do eat a some other grains like brown rice, buckwheat, masa harina and oat bran.  I just avoid all things wheat. Eliminating wheat did more for my ldl reduction then statins which I do not take at all anymore.

I bought Dr.Davis's book recently but it is a bit long in the tooth.
