I appreciate this article. It is somewhat hard to get information on this subject that is impartial. I am using plant sterols and have tested well except for a rise in triglycerides. There seems to be litte information out there as to whether this is to be expected. Thanks for a concise and informative article. Ralph

I was on two different medications and both of them didn't work do to causing muscle cramps, so I decided to go on my own and now I need help with what to eat and also what is good for the rest of my family.

Thanks for the information, i will definitely try including them more in my diet..Also i feel having an glass of lemon juice in the early morning after a brisk walk has helped me a lot in eliminating the cholesterol from the body.

I lowered my chloresterol rate by 10% to below the 'at risk' level by just drinking Benecol Light (no flavour) which is very pleasant every day for several weeks.  I now have it every day whenever I can get it but it is but it tends not to be available in smaller super markets (even inTesco Express for instance - only in their large shops); nor is it available in (for example) the USA except as a spread which does not work for me because I do not each much bread.
