I've used Policosanol, Co Q 10 (200 mg), and 2 tablespoons of granulated lecithin daily and my cholesterol went from 257 to 181.  My doctor was amazed!  I've told some of my co-workers and it has significantly lowered their cholestreol as well.

I successfully lowered my cholesterol from 314 to 210 in 6 months by eating a lot of garlic, onions, beans, apples, bran, and soy.  And I can also lower it by simply taking 600mg of Red Yeast Rice every night at bedtime.

Hi, did you find the Red Yeast Rice made your muscles achy?  I have MS and am afraid to take the prescription drugs due to the fact that they all have that side effect, but I read that the red yeast rice does too.  Can you let me know how or if it effects you at all?  I'd appreciate any help you can give me.  Thanks

Red Yeast rice never presented me with any bad side affects in the 8 months I took it. But I would strongly recommend that you try the diet of garlic, onions, beans, apples, bran, soy, flax, oats and exercise.  I don't mean you should confine your diet to those items, just eat as much of them as you can fit into a regular balanced diet.  It's always better to eat natural foods to obtain the result you are looking for rather than take the easy way out with supplements.  That's a hard rule for most of us to live by with the very busy lifestyles we seem to have acquired. But if you can manage it, it's worth the effort.

BECAREFUL with Red Yeast Rice.  I took it and it caused me to have stomach problems so I had to quit.  I am right now trying every morning to eat Oatmeal and am getting ready to start taking Nature Made Cholestoff as some say it really works, but I can't say that it does right at this time until I am on it for awhile.  The only draw back with taking Cholestoff I have found is that you have to take it atleast an 1/2 hour before meals morning and night and sometimes I know I will forget.Frown
