My husband had high triglycerides and elevated cholestorol several years ago, and had been taking both Lovastatin and Gemfibrozol for all this time. I have recently heard that that is not a good thing, and it that taking both for an extended period of time can contribute or cause kidney and/or liver failure. A recent blood test shows results that I belive could be a sign of kidney problems, and elevated glucose levels. Could taking both of these drugs be part of the problem? If so which one does he stop taking?
