how can i decrease triglycerides and is there any harm in eating salted pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and baked beans and almonds in moderation

Help with cholesterol that keeps rising

anyone with a suggestion, please advise.  45 year old brother in law that has had a heart attack and some TIA's is on 3 cholesterol meds (non statin) and his bad cholestrol has still risen to over 370.  He can not take statins as when he was on them previously he almost died when his kidneys shut down.  His body is producing too... Read moreChevron

Side Effects of Zocor

Is Lipitor better than Zocor?  Are muscle pains and joint pains side effects of Zocor or Lipitor?

danger of low HDL

In Nov 2006 I had the following result -Chol. 4.22 HDL 1.00 LDL 2.39 Tri 1.82 As I Have diabetes and 2 years ago had a by-pass my doctor recommended Zocor (25mg per day). I have had another test after 6 weeks on Zocor Chol 2.46 HDL 0.82 LDL 1.19 Tri 0.99 The result seems OK apart from the HDL. Should I worry?

clogged arteries

If you had high cholestrol and then it lowered with the help of Zocor, would that unclog your arteries if they were bad before you started taking the medicine?
