Q: dealing with Niaspan

For years, I have been taking levoxyl and nexium first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, and 20mg simvastatin on an empty stomach at bedtime.

I have now started to take an asprin 1/2 hour before bedtime, and then 500mg Niaspan with a few bites of fat free yogurt, and then the simvastatin. It makes me miserable at night.

Could I take the asprin right after breakfast and the Niaspan 1/2 hour after that and then deal with the flushing during the daytime, or must it be taken at night?

Any advice would be welcome.

Jay

Hi Jay,

Discuss your concerns/symptoms with your physician. It's possible you may be able to alter the timing of your medication to help relieve some of the issues.
