Hi Norbergrhonda,   I second everything Dr. Neil has posted and want to add two additional thoughts.    Be sure to watch your simple sugar intake, which has a direct impact on triglycerides.  By "simple sugars" I'm referring to soda, lemonade, gatorade, candy, baked goods, sweets, etc. that have a high sugar content.  Sugar and alcohol have a greater impact on triglyercides versus saturated fat (although you still need to make sure you follow a low fat diet).    If you're not currently active - start (check with your MD first).  Shoot for at least 30 minutes 3 days a week.   You may be interested in a recent sharepost on controlling triglycerides.   All the best, Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Tips to Lower Cholesterol
