Q: Hello i am a 53 year old woman and i hav a question about my cholesterol

my cholesterol/HDL-cholesterol ratio is 2,96,

HDL-cholesterol is 2,06,

LDL-cholesterol  is 3.3,

my lengt is about 1,72 meters

 

should a be worry about this,

Hi Ieniminie,

 

I'm going to convert to mg/dl so we can compare with the American Heart Association recommendations.

 

HDL 2.96 mmol/L = 79.7 mg/dl

LDL 3.3 mmol/L = 127.6 mg/dl

 

Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:

 

Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150
