Hello Patricia Plummer,   A side effect of Tricor, or if the generic, fenofibrate, is a indications in the liver enzymes which indicates some liver inflammation.  However, this does NOT mean that the liver is permanently damaged.  And in the vast majority of patients who take Tricor and stop, the liver enzymes levels in the blood will return to normal and no permanent damage to the liver will be seen.   Your husband's doctor will likely continue to monitor your husband's liver enzyme levels until they normalize and try to find another drug to lower his cholesterol.   To you and your husband's health, Neil MD
