I have a friend who said she went for check-up and was told to stop taking her meds because her counts or below normal so she doesn't need them anymore. This is news to me. Under what circumstance would this happen?

Hello hgc21

If your friend is able to control their bad cholesterol levels with out the aid of medications then they should not have to take the meds. Lifestyle changes are very important in the cholesterol control. Perhaps these changes are or will be enough for your friend.

I wish your friend well!
