I have edema and was wondering how to tell how many pounds of water i have on me?

I did the body fat test and was wondering what category the excess edema water in my body and my lose skin ( I just lost 170 lbs.) would fall under. The fat part or the lean muscle/bone part.

Thanks for your question.  I hope your doctor is aware of your situation and this is being addressed by him/her. 

 

The only way to calculate exactly how much water you are retaining is by taking your weight and comparing it your dry weight, when there is no edema.  When your doctor examines you and presses in on your shin, he has an idea of how much fluid you are retain, but this in only an estimate.  Following weights is the best indication.
