Q: Has anyone with fibromyalgia found a way to lower their cholesterol without using satins?

I am unable to tolerate the muscle pain I get from the statins I have tried. My gp now has me using red yeast rice, and fish oil, which I buy combined with flax oil and borage oil. I also take niacin, not the perscription kind. I haven't gotten my blood work done yet, so I'm not sure if it is doing anything for me or not. Has anyone had any luck with using supplements when they are unable to tolerate the statins?
