Hi Mark,

There are numerous protein shakes available.  When selecting one for you read the food label.  Make sure the saturated fat content is low and trans fats zero.  If you have high triglycerides, you'll also want to select a shake with lower carbohydrate levels.

Hi Mark,

Sure, shoot me a message with the supplements you're considering and I'll give you some feedback.

As an FYI, the majority of weight lifters do not need added protein supplements.  Most individuals consume more protein in their regular diet than they need to start with.  Protein needs are 0.8 g/kg body weight and maybe up to 1-1.2 grams/kg body weight for more professional body builders/weight lifters.  Olympic trainer Jack Medina travels around the US and Canada doing presentations that are humerous and educational when it comes to sports training.  If you have a chance to listen to him, I think you'd enjoy it.  Send me a private message and I may be able to mail a CD to you depending on your location.

All the best,
