Drs are scratching heads as to why my triglycerides shot over 1200 and now they stay around 520. They were < 130 6 months ago. I am in great shape; almost 6-pack abs (certainly 4-pack). I am not a gym rat but quite active. I roller blade 7-8 miles couple of times a week. I am constantly moving around through the day. I don't over eat. My parents or sibling don't have high triglyceride levels. My hdl is 35 (low) and ldl is 30. I don't drink any alcohol and am not on any meds. I eat really nutritious meals (low fat, whole grain and lots of veges/fruits). Infact, I never eat till I am hungry and only small portions through out the day. Often times, I feel like I stay hungry. I regualrly do ab workout every morning.
Normally I am very healthy. I don't even know what flu feels like. I don't catch cold. I can run up and down 3 flight of stairs and don't get winded. But 1.5 months ago, my left shoulder hurt extremely badly as if I tore something. Wierd, I don't think I did any thing to cause it. Then I started getting some wierd symptoms as if my heart was corroding. So Doc ordered lipid profile very reluctantly; knowing my lipid profile 6 months ago was very good. I have hole in the heart condition but drs don't think I need to do anything about it as all tests including ultra sound suggest that I am in athlete category. He and everyone else sees me and assumes I am extremely fit. This is when my triglycerides were > 1200. Doc said this is probably false and to redo test. 3 days later triglycerides were 580. Without meds, a month later they are 520. I am watching what I eat. My diet was always low fat. Infact, I have to watch what I eat anyways. If I over eat even a little, I experience headache, get nauseated and just can't sleep. My liver and kidney functions are very good so is my blood sugar level. I also don't have hypo thyroidism. Now I am on fish oil and tricore.
Feel free to ask any question. I need to get to bottom of this. I am not obsessing; I rarely ever think until I have wierd symptoms. Till now, I have ignored them. Now I record them and move on.
I am seeing family doc and heart specialist and will be seeing rheumatologist next month for some wierd symptoms. My gut says something else is going on. Please help.
