Saturday, October 29, 2011 Phil Olson asks

Q: What is the turn around time for lowering your cholesterol, by improving your diet? Similarly, how long would a bad diet take, to significantly register high levels of cholesterol?

At a recent physical examination my cholesterol level was 211, and the bad was 152. If I cut out the occasional ice cream, sweet cream butter, hamburgers, etc., how soon would another test be in order, to see if I have made an improvement? In other words, just what is the turn around time for a significant change in diet? I have also increased my workout times. Thank You

Hi Phil,

Diet and lifestyle changes should have an impact on your cholesterol levels within 4-6 weeks.
