Hi Oyster River!   Congratulations on the 30 pound weight loss and improved blood sugars!  Great job!    Two thoughts on the cholesterol that hasn't budged:   1. Did you make dietary changes as well as increase your activity? See diet to lower cholesterol.   2. Has your HDL (good) cholesterol increased since you started walking daily and lost weight? Don't just look at your total cholesterol, but what are your LDL, HDL, and triglycerides doing. It's possible your HDL has started to increase and LDL decrease, but your total cholesterol may stay the same. It just takes time.   Stick with the activity, look at where you can make dietary improvement, and hopefully the medication will be necessary for a short period of time.   All the best, Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Lower Cholesterol
