Q: My total cholesterol is 222. HDL is 72. LDL is 139. Triglycerides are 53. HDL/LDL ratio is 3.1. What is my risk factor? My doctor recommended Lipitor. Thanks.

 your doctor is following common practice that comes out of bad science.

the numbers used for total cholesterol in the graphs are in european units and need to be multiplied by 39 to get the US equivilant...
