Q: Can I take Niaspan if I am taking Plavix. What is the difference in the 2 drugs.

Hi Mrs. Towers,

 

Niaspan is a high dose of the B vitamin niacin. Here is a link to information on Plavix:

The potential for a drug interaction between the two medications is low; however, consult with your physician to determine if the two medications are appropriate for your treatment plan.
