Hi Morlene,   Here are some basic guidelines to reduce the grams of fat you eat daily:   1.  Select lean meats - "loins" and "rounds" indicate a leaner meat cut (i.e. tenderloin, sirloin, eye of round, top round).   2.  Switch to low fat dairy - 2% milk is not considered low fat.   3.  Avoid fast food and make healthy selecting when dining out.   4.  Switch to reduced fat or fat free products when appropriate, such as reduced fat mayo and salad dressings   5. Limit high fat baked goods, such as cakes and cookies.   6. Obviously, potato chips is not the snack to keep on hand.   7. Reading food labels is a great way to be aware of the fat grams in different products.   8.  Use low fat cooking methods, such as grilling and baking, instead of frying.   You can learn more about a diet to lower cholesterol here.   All the best, Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Heart Health and Weight Loss Tips
