Q: Extremely high triglycerides borderline total cholesterol

I just got test results back and my triglycerides are very high -- over 500.  My total cholesterol is only 220 and my LDL is normal.  I am otherwise fairly healthy -- I already excercise a few times a week, don't drink, and eat a moderately healthy diet.  There is a family history of high cholestererol and resultant strokes -- all with people who are thin and who excercise.  What could cause this?  And what can I do?
