I am only 34...I weigh around 137 and am 5'5" tall.  I've never thought of myself as really overweight.  I don't eat a lot of junk food (although some).  I just got my bloodwork back and my cholesterol is 276 with an ldl of 197.  How soon should I see my doctor?

Hi Jodiandariana,

Did your physician order your lab work?  If so, you will mostlikely be contacted to schedule an appointment.  If not, I recommend you contact your physician now to set up an appointment.

Also, begin to make some diet and lifestyle changes to lower your cholesterol levels.  Here's a link to some information - http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/lifestyle.html?ic=4026.

All the best,
