Hi Rajesh,

Excess weight increases the hearts workload.  Excess weight tends to raise blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, while lowering HDL cholesterol.

Losing as little as 10 pounds can have a positive impact on your risk for heart disease.  However, I do not know of a correlation between cholesterol and BMI that can be used to estimate cholesterol levels.

All the best on your journey to heart health and weight loss!
