have been on generic Zocor for 6 yrs the flu-like symptoms and hair loss led to my stopping the drug

Stopped the drug 30 days ago. feel much better but what do I need to take now (did take Zocor 40 mg)? cholesterol is on the rise.

Hi Baldy,

 

With any medication there is the potential for side effects. I recommended discussing your options with your physician and weighing the pros and cons.  I also strongly encourage you to work to lower cholesterol naturally.  If you are able to make diet changes to maintain a low cholesterol level, you will not have to rely on medication.
