Zetia is a cholesterol lowering drug that also works on reducing LDL and raising HDL. Unlike statin medications, it works in the intestine rather than the liver. It blocks the reabsorption of cholesterol from the Gastrointestinal Tract. Statins, on the other hand, block the production of cholesterol in the liver.
Zetia can be taken at any time of day or night, with or without food. To ensure that you do not miss a dose, try to take the medication at the same time each day.
