Hi Ldrew,
First, I recommend discussing with your physician who fully knows you health background. Second, here's a little input based on the numbers you've shared.
Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:
Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150

Your HDL could be higher. HDL and triglycerides go hand-in-hand. By this I mean, the steps you take to lower triglycerides will typically result in a higher HDL level. Here's a post with tips on how to raise HDL - http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/c/42538/42319/tips-raise-hdl.
You're LDL level is not bad. I recommend focusing on triglycerides first. Once triglycerides are within normal limits, move on to making changes that will lower LDL.
