Q: Hello, My cholesterol is 237. Triglyceride 120 HDL 65 LDL 148 I am a healthy vegeterian who excercises aprox. 2 hours 7x per week. I'm 5'4" and 132lbs.

My diet is relatively low carb almost exclusively consisting of whole grains, fruits/veggies and healthy proteins. I eat oatmeal in the mornings and egg whites for dinner. I was told I shouldn't be concerned but I am! Why would my cholesterol be high?

Depending on your age that level may not be high and in fact may be a very healthy level.  the following link is to one of the few long term studies to measure all cause mortality versus TC, LDL-C, and HDL-C See table 5 :

note that the lowest risk of death occures at TC of 200-259!

 

note also that your LDL-C and HDL-C are also in the lowest risk range..
