Q: How does one control cholesterol while on a Gluten Free diet?

Hi Connie,

 

The steps you take to control high cholesterol are pretty much the same as someone without gluten intolerance.  The only difference will be using dietary fiber.  You will have to use fruits and vegetables as sources of dietary fiber to lower cholesterol more so than whole grain products.  Otherwise, the steps you take are the same.

I just found out from my last cholesterol test that I have a very higher cholesterol rate, need to know what is the risks for my health and what can I do to lower it quickly and stabilize it;

Cholesterol total 300mg/dl

HDL Cholesterol 114,6 mg%

LDL Cholesterol 232,6mg%

H.Pyosi 180 u/ml
