emilyrosevt,   Thanks for your posted question.  At this time there is no combination pill that contains both zocor and benicar.    Concerning your question about the need for taking cholesterol medication on a continuous basis, this depends on many factors.  Some people respond to diet and exercise to such an extent that medication can be withdrawn.  Other people maintain elevated levels no matter what measures they take.  Risk factors are another consideration when prescribing cholesterol medication.  These include prior heart disease, family history, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, excessive weight, and, of course, elevated cholesterol.  Your doctor takes all of these factors into consideration when making decisions about medication.  You should discuss this, as well as other concerns, with him.    Also, please review this website, especially the sections covering treatment of elevated cholesterol - both medication and non-medication.   Thank you.     Martin Cane, M.D.
