Hi Terri,   There are a lot of companies out there that want you to believe that garlic will solve your heart disease problems.  Unfortunately, the research just isn't there to support these claims. . . .yet.  This is an area of ongoing research.   Dr. Kang recently published a good article - Garlic: Is it good for cholesterol?   Just because garlic doesn't have a strong link to reduced heart disease, doesn't mean it isn't a nutritious vegetable.  Garlic is a good antioxidant source and should be included as part of a healthy diet.   All the best,   Lisa Nelson, RD, LN Lower Cholesterol, Control Blood Pressure, Lose Weight
