Q: Cholesterol

My Serum Cholestrol is 255, HDL-C 78, LDL 164, VDLDL 13, HDL risk factor 3.3. Do i need medications or just change my lifestyle and take omega 3 plus??
Please advice what to eat and what NOT to eat My age is 29 and will be 30 next november

Hi Nermine911,


Here are the recommendations of the American Heart Association:

 

Total cholesterol less than 200
HDL cholesterol at least > 40, ideally > 60
LDL cholesterol at least less than 130, ideally less than 100
Triglycerides less than 150

 

Your HDL is great - well done!  You would benefit from lowering your LDL levels.  Here  are a few links to posts you may want to review:
